“Art Center College Of design” Pasadena ,California ?
The 16000 dollar term fee seems ridiculous. This is like buying one car every few weeks or a Ferrari in no more than 2 years. Do you really need a degree from this college to get into famous automotive design companies such as BMW,Audi,Fiat,Alfa Romeo etc?
Is it smarter to get your bachelors first from a cheaper college and go for your masters in ACCOD later?
125 904 $ for a bachelors degree seems impossible to save (not counting the cost of daily life and rent).
I’m beginning to think that dreams are not enough to get anyone through this college without the required cash.
k,
College is no-holds-barred EXPENSIVE. That said, you should know that a degree from the best colleges puts you in control of your career. For example, if you wanted to be an engineer, you can get that degree from many colleges, and you’ll be an engineer. However, if you want to work in the best places, with the best pay, you’d better go to UCBerkeley.
Also, if you get your bachelor’s degree, you’ll do fine, financilally. Get a master’s degree and you’ll have a better choice of jobs and salaries. Get your doctorate and now you choose where to work and for how much. It’s up to you, it’s your decision.
If you think ACCOD is expensive, price out Stanford, UoPacific, Harvard, etc. $16,000 a term starts looking pretty cheap. Especially if you want to work for a specific car company. You don’t have to save ahead for all of college. You can get student loans to help you out. But do save as much as you can because you don’t want to have to work a lot of hours or at all during your senior year. That’s so you can devote your time to doing your best during the most challenging classes.
A last note: write a letter -not an email- and ask those car companies which colleges they recommend, or at least prefer their designers to have attended. That will be very helpful for you.
